Fish for Snapper, Porgy, or any other reef fish with this 3' Chicken Rig. Use when fishing for smaller species such as whiting and pompano.
You can use almost any kind of bait. It is a basic bottom fishing rig used for surf fishing. Anglers who vertically bottom fish from boats and piers find these very useful. Multiple baits can be set at varying depths which is this rig's advantage.
With circle hooks, you don't set the hook. Instead, begin reeling and the hook will find the corner of the fish's mouth. These hooks provide greater holding power with fewer drop-offs. Chicken Rigs bait well and are great for live bait.Â
