Sinkers used in conjunction with a fishing lure or hook to increase its rate of sink, anchoring ability, and/or casting distance. The type sinker you choose, its weight, shape, and manner in which it's rigged and used can make or break a day of fishing. Please check state regulations for lead weight use.
Bank sinkers have a tear drop shape making it perfect for long distance casting and great for not being caught on a rocky bottom.
Egg sinkers are shaped exactly like an egg (Obvious name choice) and have a hole drilled through the middle of them. Intended to be used as a sliding weight, the egg sinker if most often used when bottom fishing live bait or even Carolina rigging soft plastics. The weight is slid up the main line and a swivel with barrel or ball bearing is them tied to the end of the line.
